Why Indiana

A growing field

Indiana’s Hispanic and Latino population is estimated at about 600,000 residents—roughly 8.8% of the state—and continues to grow. Most are of Mexican origin, with significant representation from other Latin American countries and a growing bilingual second generation. Many communities still lack a healthy Spanish-speaking Southern Baptist church.
